Are you enough?

Do you ever find yourself wondering, “Am I enough?”
Well, are you enough? I’m asking you. Are you enough just the way you are?
Too many times, the answer is no.
I’ll be enough when I earn an extra $5,000 this month….when I get my next degree…..when I’m 40…..when I’m a mom, or a dad….when I have 3 grandchildren…. when I have a bigger house… when I have my own private island…
I’ll be enough.
Those words are so heartbreaking to me. Why is it, that we aren’t satisfied with being enough right where we are right now? How come we need something else before we feel worthy of ourselves, or of love?
What if – and I know I’m going out on a limb here – what if you’re enough right now?
Just the way you are? Is that a sigh of relief I hear on your end, or did you cringe a little bit?
Either way, it’s ok. I just wanted to pop in today to let you know how amazing you are, and what a wonderful job you’re doing. And wherever you are on your journey – it’s ok. The tough times don’t last, and the wonderful ones – well, they say they don’t last either, but I believe differently.
